All of our products are preservative free, and we uphold our responsibility approach, by ensuring products are free from artificial flavourants, aromas, colourings and preservatives. Creating gluten free products is a significant challenge, especially in upholding flavour and texture. We combine ingredients together to create great tasting alternatives. We also use thickening agents to replace glutens binding properties in our products, and to ensure our products maintain the desired texture and palatability, without compromising on quality and nutrition. To ensure our products stay freshest for longest, we have carefully selected the correct micron packaging, to ensure that we can uphold our preservative free promise, alongside small batch manufacturing, ensuring our products are freshest for customer satisfaction.
Our facility and team are trained to maintain our going greener policies, by upholding our recycling principles. We have reduced our waste management footprint, by implementing a strict recycling policy, which has enabled us to reduce our wet waste by 75%, and now recycle all the rest, alongside the Drakenstein Municipality. Our packaging is made from recycled board, and the BOPP reels that we use to enclose our products and use as a preservation barrier is 100% recyclable. A zero waste policy have been adhered to for the past 5 years and maintained. We ensure this by utilizing all parts of ingredients and any scrapings and wet waste is either utilized elsewhere for other industries and also provided to our local pig farmer, as we believe not an ounce of food should go to waste or be dumped into bins adding to our huge environmental problems. A second use can always be found for any product and waste. Egg shells are crushed and added to soil for additional calcium and to aid snail problems. This has been an integral part of our companies vales and ethics as we all have a responsibility and every little bit helps making an impact towards a greener healthier world.
A full solar system are erected with the aid of Solar Energy Architects and Jaltech Africa Capital. This is to aid lessening our companies’ footprint and impact on the environment while ensuring our team can also enjoy guaranteed employment during load shedding stages and its severe impacts. This will also enable us to keep up with seamless manufacturing and lesson the impacts of load shedding on product quality and losses due to the unreliable electricity supply.
